Swiss technology leader ABB has acquired Gamesa Electric, a specialist in solar PV inverters and power conversion systems (PCS). The deal, finalized in late 2024, enhances ABB’s industrial automation and factory automation portfolio. Although the financial details remain undisclosed, the acquisition signals ABB’s renewed commitment to renewable energy integration.

Schneider Electric has partnered with the NHS National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) to integrate advanced industrial automation and control systems into patient care. This collaboration highlights how automation technologies such as PLCs, DCS, and IoT-enabled platforms can enhance both patient autonomy and hospital energy efficiency.

ABB has inaugurated its Traction Centre of Excellence in Maryborough, Queensland. The USD 6 million facility spans 5,000 square meters and focuses on traction converters, motors, and energy storage. This investment strengthens Australia’s industrial automation ecosystem and supports projects like the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP) for the 2032 Brisbane Olympic Games.

Emerson Electric will host Emerson Exchange 2026 from May 19–21 at the Dubai World Trade Center. This major event, held in the Middle East for the first time, will gather more than 2,000 professionals from over 50 countries. The theme, Imagine the Next, encourages participants to look beyond current digital transformation and explore breakthroughs in PLC, DCS, and factory automation.
